These B-Schoolers made their
dream business a reality.
I’d made a pact with myself — if I was still struggling financially when I turned 50, I would quit writing. Weirdly, by the time I turned 50, my author profile was soaring. Sadly, my bank account didn’t reflect this. Five more years passed. The Christmas before I joined B-School I was chatting on the phone to my publisher. I asked her what she was doing for Christmas. She was going to London, followed by a quick week in Japan. I was staying home (no money). I hung up the phone and burst into tears. Not because I was jealous, but because I felt burnt out, defeated and ashamed. I knew I had to take control of my life and stop hoping for things to get better or for some best-selling miracle to rescue me.
I’d been following Marie for a couple of years and found her fascinating and inspiring, so I signed up for B-School.
I’ve doubled my income in two years, (within the first year I had a five-figure launch). My shop visit conversion rates (which were always healthy) have moved from 3% to a 24% average for my last two launches. I feel in control of my life, my finances and my future. My self- confidence has soared. I feel valued and appreciated. I’m bursting with plans for the future. This has been a massive journey in terms of personal development and at 57 I’m discovering a whole new side of myself. I love my biz and my tribe to bits. Plus, added bonus, I’m still writing books for kids and have had a book optioned for film!
